The PTAC Installation Is More Practical Than Traditional AC Systems

Hotel air conditioners permit the environmental control of each bedroom as required. As a substitute to squandering electricity for controlling air temps for guestroom spaces that are not in use, through-the-wall air conditioners furnish controls for adjusting cooling and adjusting the in-room humidity. This is accomplished by moving heat away from the living space and unleashing it to the outside. If you have ever enjoyed the night in a resort facility, you have likely used a PTAC. Truth is, a GE PTAC and hotel furniture were produced to make living in a motel room as convenient as never having left your house. Because packaged terminal air conditioners are mounted directly through the wall, the system does not need expensive ducts and vents or costly provisions for return return vents.

Basically, the reason for heating and cooling the air in a select environment is to give rise to a more healthy room environment. This can incorporate controlling the temp of a space as well as adjusting the amount of water vapor in the air. In plain English, the inside air is perpetually controlled to counter the weather outside in spite of Mother Nature’s variances. An individual split wall unit goes in every room that needs to be heated or cooled and each PTAC is adjusted independently. Usually, if you have big room, it will require a bigger through-the-wall air conditioner. Naturally, if you have a smaller space to heat and cool, the heat value requirements will be reduced. Numerous popular brands make through-the-wall air conditioner units. A hospitality supply dealer, such as MDM, can help you determine the best unit for your needs.

Once you have established the size, BTU rating, and electrical needs for the through-the-wall system that best suits your application, you may need to pick up a drain kit, an insert sleeve, optional wall thermostat and exterior grate. For most hotel air conditioners, manufacturers offer accessory grates to compliment any decor or to handle seasonal weather conditions where the outside grate needs to be nickel-plated. The true size and appearance of any packaged terminal air conditioning unit might look similar. A variety of units are produced to fit the same-size (42-inch) PTAC sleeve. If you intend to install “Green”, you should be able to find a packaged terminal AC unit that takes environmentally-friendly R410 freon. The popular refrigerant is less hazardous than through-the-wall systems that take outdated refrigerants.
